Tiger rug

This Tiger carpet is an exclusive soft sculpture for the floor. It contains about 1500 handmade pompons of merino wool. They reach a height of up to 12cm. The stripes are each hand wrapped into the woolen balls and arranged together so that this typical tiger pattern including the color gradient is achieved. The head of the tiger is formed by a mold sewn from felt; inside with filling cushion. This Design rug gains a total weight of approx. 50kg. Eye sockets, muzzle, tongue and teeth are hand-felted from wool. Eyes are glass and beard hairs are imitated by quills. All used materials are of high quality. This art object is exclusively handmade in Germany and at MYKs studio in Berlin. Customizing in color is possible.

Extra: 2009 there where only 3200 wild tigers counted worldwide. Today the numbers of free-ranging tigers have been rising again, this is to be owed to the successful tiger protection in Nepal, India, Bhutan and Russia. But still this gorgeous wild cat is strongly endangered!
